The death penalty was never in place for the common crime. It was in place for the most heinous criminals: Cop killers. Child molesters and rapists who murder their victims. These were the crimes eligible for the ultimate punishment.

No more.

Santa Fe politicians said, no. They repealed the death penalty for even the most horrific murders.

Now you can do something about it.

I am asking you to join me today in working to reinstate the death penalty in New Mexico. To do this, we must take our message directly to the voters and put the issue on the ballot. That way the public can have the final say.

But we will face strong opposition. A ton of money was spent lobbying the New Mexico Legislature on repealing the death penalty.  Special interest groups like the ACLU and criminal defence attorneys worked hard to get the outcome they desired. Now that they won in Santa Fe, I expect that they will continue to spend millions to keep the voters from having a say.

That’s why I need your help. The New Mexico Constitution allows voters to ask for a referendum on an issue but several conditions must be met prior to the issue being placed on the ballot.  The number one criteria for having an issue placed on the ballot is collecting a specified number of signatures from registered voters.

You can help by donating to “Repeal the Repeal.”  Your contribution will help build the organization required to move forward a ballot referendum to let the voices of New Mexicans be heard.  Your donation will also help educate the voters about the necessity of holding the most violent criminals accountable for their actions.

Please join the movement today by making a donation of $25, $50, $100 or even $1000 or more.  Your contributions can be drawn on either a personal or business account.

You can help be a voice for those who no longer have one. It is critical that the rights of the victims be heard.  The majority of New Mexicans believe that the death penalty should be an option that juries are allowed to consider in the trial of the most heinous murders.  Our elected officials must be held accountable to the will of the people and placing this issue on the ballot will ensure that the voices of the voters are heard.

The will of the voters must be heard in Santa Fe and your contribution of $25, $50, $100 or even $1000 or more can make the difference.

This issue is especially important to me because I understand how it impacts police and correction officers.  Before the death penalty was repealed, criminals had to think twice before choosing to take the life of a cop, or prison guard.  The death penalty provided a layer of protection for police and correction officers.  That protection is now gone. And it’s up to us to fight back.

I hope you will join me in raising our voices to let the will of the voters be heard.  With your help, we can be a voice for those who no longer have one.

I appreciate your time and consideration of this matter.

Sincerely,

Darren White

P.S.  Please join me today in lending your voice to those who no longer have one by making a donation of $25, $50, $100 or even $1000 today.  Together we can make a difference and reinstate the death penalty in New Mexico for the most heinous murders.
